Our long-term clients approached us with a request to design seasonal canopies for the summer terrace of the café — as a temporary solution for one working season, with the option of relocating the structures for future use in other locations.
There are three large trees growing directly on the café terrace, and a fourth tree extends over the area with its canopy. This made it difficult to use standard umbrellas or typical awning systems.
The bistro's summer terrace has two height levels. We intentionally left the view of the main entrance and signage unobstructed by roofing, keeping that area open.On both sides of the entrance, we installed modular tent structures with metal frames and outdoor fabric roofs — four paired structures in total.

About the Finishes and Design Solutions:
Using fabric roofing allowed us to leave openings at the locations of the tree trunks. The roof material is easily mounted using Velcro and grommets. Curtain rails were added around the perimeter for roll-up fabric curtains. In the center, a decorative canopy hides the structural elements and engineering lines. We grouped light fixtures and lemon branch decorations beneath the canopy, creating bright, cozy tent spaces in a French style, consistent with the café’s overall aesthetic.
The creation of the interior design of the establishment is described here, and the creation of the second hall is described here.
