Task and starting point:

This was already the sixth request from our regular customers since 2021. This time, it was necessary to renovate the existing establishment due to a slight change in its format and menu.

It was necessary to place a display case with bakery and confectionery products, provide space for Italian goods for sale, allocate a separate area for the administrator with a cash register, and move the service area for waiters out of the kitchen. It was decided to change the classification of the establishment in the identity from “coffee bar” to “bistro,” which entailed adjusting all branded elements. In terms of taste preferences, there was a desire to incorporate the image of lemons into the design code of the establishment.

The customers also decided to correct the shortcomings and mistakes of the previous renovation and to carry out cosmetic repairs to the furniture and premises. Most of the designer's work this time was carried out without a project.
We placed all the new functionality that needed to be provided in an area of about 5 square meters, replacing a table for four people that was rarely used by guests due to its proximity to the service areas. We kept the existing shelving unit as much as possible, but moved it and filled it with new functionality.

This allowed us to place a grocery store with a refrigerated display case for pastries and ready-made snacks, a bread rack and bread shelves, and a display case for pasta, coffee, wine, and other products for sale. We created a spacious station for waiters with the possibility of storing and servicing tableware, as well as an equipped work area for the administrator.

About the restaurant's interior design:

We have completely preserved the style of the establishment in the renovated part. The refrigerated display case was custom-designed. The bread rack is clearly visible from both bistro rooms. The staff work area can be easily separated visually with a curtain, and mirrors allow you to monitor the situation behind the employee.
For convenient storage of children's food tables, a rack with height-adjustable shelves was developed. The top shelf can be used to display potted flowers, while the shelf below is convenient for storing menus, table reservation signs, and waiter accessories.

A set of utensils for the establishment was developed, including stackable trays for cutlery.
The entire package of previously developed identity elements was adjusted according to new data and with a lemon theme.
During the renovation process, we selected contractors for all major types of work, consulted with all contractors, supervised the work, and added new interior elements.
To decorate the halls of the Marina bistro, the head of VMVdesign made a series of ink sketches of Italian streets.
