Task and starting point:

Our long-time clients, with whom cooperation began back in 2010 with the founder of our bureau, approached us again. A partnership proven over years grows into true friendship.
Previously, we designed footwear and accessories boutiques for the client. This time, they were launching a new product category — women’s fashion — with a wide and varied assortment.

Our task was to develop a full-scope design project for a new women’s clothing brand, within tight deadlines, in a space that previously operated as a retail unit. The brand name, product range, and stylistic preferences were already defined.

We created the brand’s logo and developed both the interior and exterior design of the boutique.
Since the space had already been used for women’s fashion retail, the existing stockroom and fitting room areas were preserved.
We expanded the space by aligning the shopfront glazing along one line, extending it to the entrance area near the checkout. The main glass façade remained unchanged due to mall regulations, although the single entry door is clearly insufficient for comfortable customer flow. The stockroom measures 55.8 m², the fitting area accommodates 12 booths at 38.2 m², and the retail hall covers 619 m².

From the previous tenants, we inherited the checkout desk and perforated display systems with white laminated chipboard panels. We accepted their placement and dimensions and built the rest of the zones around them, unifying all elements into the brand’s new design code.
{ Planning }
The store is divided by product type: a footwear zone is located in front of the checkout; the main apparel zone also integrates accessories; the fitting room area includes homewear and promotional items. Small accessories such as belts, hats, and jewelry are placed on both sides of the checkout.
The store is large and designed for high traffic. Since customers may come with family or friends, we included lounge areas in the retail halls: two circular sofas and two 2-meter single-sided benches in the footwear zone, four armchairs in the apparel area, and two 1.6-meter benches in the fitting zone, along with ottomans in each fitting booth.

About the Interior:

The interior is designed in a minimalist Japandi style. The palette is light and pastel, with black used as an accent. The interior color scheme and prints echo the brand’s identity, which was developed by our bureau alongside the project.
BEAU MONDE translates from French as "beautiful world" — a nod to the beauty of the world at large, the beauty of women, and the wide selection of beautiful clothes and accessories. To highlight the natural materials of the products and the organic elegance of the collections, we introduced animal prints into the brand code — leopard, zebra, and giraffe patterns — alongside light oak and marble textures, and desert-inspired beige tones. We are all part of this beautiful world. Each of us is different and unique — and that’s where our beauty lies. This clothing is meant to highlight your natural beauty — that’s the message behind the brand’s design concept. The philosophy of naturalness is also reflected in form: all display equipment features rounded shapes and curves — aesthetically pleasing, ergonomic, and safe.
All retail furniture was designed specifically for this brand. Gondolas and hanging racks are made from metal tubing; shelving units use profiled frames with laminated chipboard and glass inserts. All furniture was made from laminated chipboard to optimize production cost and timeline. The equipment was tailored for different product groups, as the store offers a full range of women’s fashion, footwear, bags, jewelry, and accessories.
The original floors of the mall had many defects and cracks in the ceramic granite. We provided a commercial-grade linoleum finish — not only to improve the appearance, but also to reduce heel noise and increase floor traction, making the store more comfortable for customers.
The lighting system consists of ceiling frames with track-mounted spotlights featuring wide beam angles, allowing flexible highlighting of product zones even when the layout changes.
All furniture developed for the store is mobile and easily reconfigured into different product groupings. It can be rearranged at any time or installed in a different space. The store’s design as a whole is easily scalable and adaptable to various sizes and layouts.

Process:

The project was implemented in 2022 and is operating successfully.

The client managed the implementation independently, with occasional consultations from the designer for contractor selection.
