The client approached with the task to design an empty room in the existing Safar restaurant, previously designed by VMVdesign in 2019. The space previously housed a tandoor shop and needed to be converted into a guest lounge for one small campaign of guests.

Other than removing old equipment, the second level of flooring in the space, there was no need to do structural remodeling.
About the design
The concept of visual solutions in the private room is radically different from the decoration of the main rooms of the restaurant.
The interior was created with inspiration from palace interiors of Islamic architecture and in symbiosis with modern design trends. The walls of the room are enveloped by smooth volumetric plaster as an element of the ancient clay architecture of Central Asia. At the same time, mirror plate inlay and textured girih patterns are woven into this natural imperfect form, creating a stunning symphony of luster and roughness textures.
Restaurant decor elements and design details

The main compositional center is the dining group, all elements of which are highlighted in bright orange. The walls only gently envelop the dining area. A handmade chandelier (based on the designer's sketches) hangs over the table, its shapes inspired by rosary beads
The sofa and chairs are upholstered in textiles with an ikat pattern designed for this project and realized by printing on the fabric. Mirrored inserts are found in the patterns on the wooden ceiling cornice, a technique that was inspired by the ceilings of historical palaces in the Middle East.
Carved wooden cabinets serve as guest closets and conceal heating systems.
The ceilings are decorated with branches and fabric canopies, hiding all technical communications and functional lighting.

Decorative screens by the windows create privacy, separate from the street, while preserving the natural insolation of the room. If necessary, a large table can be divided in half into two campaigns of people and visually separate these groups of people with a mobile screen.
But that's not all, the table can be extended for a couple of seats, and the sofa has a proper length for this case. Thus, in spite of the small volume of the room, all its possibilities are used in all scenarios of operation.
Even small rooms can be turned into small masterpieces, into spaces with meaning, comfort and versatility. Literally every element is thought out by the author of the project as an exclusive product, the search for the perfect balance of shapes and textures in this concept was crowned with triumphant success.

Process
When searching for a visual language for the interior, a little research work was done, looking for fresh interpretations of the traditional style, many sketches were made.
The 3d visualization of the VIP room interior was approved from the first submission for approval.
