Task and starting point:

This case is not about a single project, but rather a story of ongoing collaboration that began in 2021 and continues to this day.
In 2021, our bureau was approached by a retailer specializing in loose-leaf tea and coffee, along with related products — teaware, sweets, and more. The brand had already been successful in Shymkent and was now entering the Almaty market. For this purpose, they needed a new retail point with a fresh, more relevant design.
The first project we worked on was a tea kiosk on the ground floor of TSUM mall, next to the escalator. The design of this first point later allowed the brand to easily negotiate and secure new spaces in shopping malls across Almaty and Shymkent.
Over four years of collaboration, our studio designed nine projects for 1000 and One Tea. The following are the most notable:
– the first project at TSUM near the escalator,
– a kiosk at GRAND PARK mall,
– a boutique at TSUM,
– and a retail island at MEGA PARK mall.

The space had previously been occupied by another retailer, so the interior had finished walls, ceiling, and flooring. No structural changes were planned.
The space was rectangular, with only two columns on either side as a drawback.
We managed to visually balance the geometry by integrating the furniture layout: shelving with tea and coffee canisters was placed along the main wall and right-hand side.
A counter separates the staff work area from the customer zone. On the counter:
– tea and coffee brewing equipment for tasting,
– a display case with sweets,
– cash register with scales,
– pastry case with desserts.
Under the counter: refrigerators and additional equipment.
A separate display cabinet in the customer area showcases teaware and other gift items.

About the Interior:

The interior is designed in a minimalist style.
The color palette fully aligns with the brand’s identity.

Implementation:

In a compact 10 m² area bordered by an escalator and a column, we placed shelving for products, a counter for packaging and selling tea, and a small bar counter.

About the Design:

The color scheme strictly follows the brand’s identity.
We used the palette to visually separate tea products from coffee products.
On the coffee side, where the assortment is smaller, a bar area was installed with equipment for preparing tea and coffee tastings.
